A Letter From Our Founder

Dear Friends,

What began in early 2024 as a simple idea shared between a few animal lovers has grown into something truly meaningful — Mecco Animal Rescue.
Our journey started with nothing more than passion, compassion, and the desire to make a difference in the lives of animals who had no one to speak for them. We didn’t have a shelter, nor a big organization behind us — just open hearts and the will to act.

Since then, we’ve been able to rescue and care for more than 20 animals — each one with their own story, their own struggle, and their own need for love and healing. Every life saved has reminded us why we began this journey. But this is just the beginning. Our goal is to rescue at least 300 animals in the coming months and years, and give them the second chances they so deeply deserve. .

Right now, we are operating from our veterinary clinic, doing the best we can with the little we have. But with your help, we can do so much more.

Where it all began

From Passion to Purpose

In early 2024, Mecco Animal Rescue (MARE) was born out of a heartfelt conversation between our founder and co-founder — two individuals brought together by a shared dream: to be a voice for the voiceless. With compassion in their hearts and a deep love for animals, they joined hands with three other passionate animal lovers, and together, Mecco Animal Rescue began its journey.

Though our beginning is recent, our mission runs deep. We may be small, but we are fueled by a big dream — to save, protect, and care for as many animals as we can. At the moment, we don’t yet have a shelter of our own. Instead, we’ve opened our doors through the Mecco Veterinary Clinic, where we provide care and a temporary safe haven for the animals we rescue.

Every day, we’re driven by love — love for the injured, the abandoned, the forgotten. Our journey is just beginning, and we’re humbled by every life we touch. With hope in our hearts and your support, we dream of building a permanent shelter, a sanctuary where every rescued animal can heal, feel safe, and find a second chance.
